#1. Complete Mondstadt Archon Quest
If you have completed Archon Quests in every nation you have traveled to, you can easily access a new country when it's unlocked. Therefore, you should complete all archon quests in Mondstadt, Liyue, Inazuma, and Sumeru.
At least, you should complete the Song of the Dragon and Freedom Act 3 in Mondstadt's Archon Quest Prologue. It will let you access Fontaine right after the new update is available. It would be best if you completed the latest archon quest Chapter III: Act VI “Caribert”.
#2. Complete Main Story Quests & Side Quests
If you have ignored all story quests in Genshin Impact, it's time for you to complete these quests. Try to complete these quests before many new quests in Fontaine are released in update 4.0 and next.
Moreover, old story quests give players essential information for new quests. Sometimes, you have to complete previous quests to unlock new story quests of the questline in the new update. It helps you unlock new story quests without having to return to Mondstadt, Liyue, Inazuma, and Sumeru to find NPCs and characters stuck in those old quests.
#3. Stock Up Primogems
Primogems are essential for players who want to pull new characters and weapons in Fontaine. After update 4.0, there will be many new characters and weapons with new mechanics: Ousia and Pneuma.
All enemies in Fontaine are impacted by these two mechanics. Therefore, you must have characters or weapons with the opposite effect to counter.
#4. Farm Mora & Hero's Wits
Apart from ascension materials, you need a lot of Mora and Hero's Wits to level up your characters. Ley Line Overflow spots are the best locations to farm these materials for new characters from Fontaine or old characters that you haven't leveled up yet.
You can farm a lot of Mora from the open-world exploration. Besides, Hero's Wits are available to farm from events and treasure chests.
#5. Build A Multi-Tasking Team
To complete all these tasks, you must build a multi-tasking team. You should build a strong team with powerful elemental reactions, such as Hyperbloom, Burgeon, Burning, etc. Bring these teams to challenge domains and complete all remaining quests.
Complete these tasks before the next update is released. This helps you have more time to enjoy the new features and explore Fortaine when the new update comes out.
